Having ventured back into art and photography after a period away from it and after ruining my life again by failing to have the health and poeces in place to make a clean break and change of career, I have realised why I left art in the first place.

So, again I am going to walk away from it and not create anything anymore, hopefully, this time it will be permanent.

All true artists should stop, the only valid response any one calling themselves an artist can make in this world is to stop providing art to the world. Not that is the reason I am stopping, I would not regard myself as an artist

Not much to tell. After some 18years working in photography (man and boy!) I have vowed not to pick up a camera again. I had decided to pursue writing as a creative outlet, but now it seems I just do not want to create anymore in any medium, so my life in art is ended.

Current Residence: greenwich, london
Interests: reading just about everything, art, conversation, friends, lots of stuff.
Favourite movie: Amelie, Silent Running, Spaghetti Westerns and anything with Emmanuelle Beart in it
Favourite band or musician: Kind of prefer silence these days.
Favourite genre of music: don't really listen, used to play and sing but not anymore
Favourite artist: mmm, Rembrandt, there is too much good stuff out there to think of!
Favourite poet or writer: Dylan Thomas, James Joyce, Keats, Yeats, the 1st world war poets,
Favourite photographer: Lee Miller, Brandt, definately Horst, all pretty non-contemporary!
Favourite style of art: some of the stuff I am finding on DA!
Operating System: XP and public workstations 2000 or NT
MP3 player of choice: cheapest I could buy
Wallpaper of choice: portrait of Gina Bellman
Favourite game: Sturmovik flight sim, my only gaming vice!

Tools of the Trade: good digital camera now, only just made the leap from 35mm and a pencil

Wow, I have been away from DeviantArt for a while, come back and it is all changed. Looking at all your new work, impressive, beautiful, inspiring imagery.

I have kind of lost faith in photography on a personal level, why I have not logged in to the site for such a long time.
